what is the trick to getting the siphon to work properly. i couldnt get it to work right and i am afraid i ruined my first batch. and yes i practiced with water before. please let me know what the trick is and tell me i didnt ruin my beer
For some reason when I started my batch on Friday using leaf hops for the first time I didn't think about the leaf hops blocking my drainage. It was a problem.
Since I use an immersion chiller what would y'all reccomend for a hop blocker that I can use with the immersion chiller?
PHILLY BEER WEEK INDEX @ THE BREW LOUNGE
Here is the last posting that I did on the subject. This is all coming together rather nicely. I did a test run today and I must say that the route is pretty awesome. It's right around 5 miles. I tried to run it the way the group might. It should take us right around an hour to get to Dock Street, including rest and hydration stop(s).

Anyone have a good Porter or Stout recipe that I could use some bourbon soaked oak chips with?
How do you guys brew?
As for myself the way i noticed is that I have been brewing alot of APA's so that I can develop my own recipe for a perfect house brew.
So what is your guys approach, do you brew alot of styles and are satisfied or do you go with the constant brewing of one style?
