Visited Nodding Head hoping to sample the Berliner Weisse and Scottish Ale. Unfortunately they were out of the Scottish Ale at the time, but started with a pint of the Berliner Weisse. They serve their beer with a green woodruff syrup (as is the custom in Berlin) unless you specifically request otherwise. For those who have never tried a Berliner Weisse before, I would recommend trying it without the syrup first. Their Berliner is less sour than Kindl Weisse, which should make it a great introduction for newbies. You don't find this style brewed often, so take advantage of it and try a pint. read more »

PHILLY BEER WEEK INDEX @ THE BREW LOUNGE
Nodding Head is Center City's most fun brewpub...we all nod in agreement and wish that there were more. Thing is, there's a lot of nodding going on in the Sansom Street (or is it Sampson???) brewhouse. As you reach the top of the long flight of stairs leading up from street level, you're greeted with a tall glass case full of row after row of bobbleheads.Bryan
